Yanni's Prelude plays in the atmosphere as Michael and Mary are at awe with their new home in New Rochelle. Placing one hand on her stomach, Mary is eight months pregnant with a boy (Aiden Pierce McDowell) who is due to be delivered on January 1,2024. Michael as a husband and soon-to-be father has stepped up to the plate to provide and protect his family. There will be no more sticking out his neck for the actions of his brother or looking over his shoulder. In order for Michael to make the necessary moves he made he had to make sacrifices. The recently married McDowells have no regrets concerning the choices they have made. A new home, a new neighborhood, and an expanding family, things are looking up for the McDowells.
Within the confinement of a holding cell inside of the Bronx Criminal Court, Gabriel is awaiting sentencing. He is being convicted of the murder of Desmond "Dell" Covington and he is also facing another murder charge of an unnamed person (pending). As told to him by his lawyer, Gabriel will most likely be serving 25 years to life. Inside of the cell, Gabriel felt weak and paralyzed. He tried praying, crying, and even thinking about all of what he had done. Deep down Gabriel knew it was too late to undo everything he had ever done. The correctional officers opened the cell and escorted Gabriel into the courtroom. Between Dell's family looking on and the judge's harsh tone, Gabriel stood his ground and took accountability for his actions. The judge sentenced Gabriel 25 years to life in prison. Justice was served as Dell's family celebrated in the courtroom. Luckily for Hannah she has moved on with her life. Along with dating a Dominican man named Samuel (a barber), Hannah has been going to cosmetology classes and plans on owning her own hair and nail shop.
Stationed inside the janitor's closet of The Bronxwood Preparatory Academy, FBI Agent Malcolm Montgomery is in a state of complacency. Gabriel is now in prison about to serve life behind bars. Michael seems to have moved out of Edenwald Houses. Menace has been moving in silence since the yacht that had the drugs and firearms was hit over the summer. Sphinx is still an active-duty officer within the NYPD. All of this doesn't add up. Every case that Agent Montgomery has taken had only lasted no more than a month. He has asked his superiors about this case but was told to not ask questions and follow orders. On his left-hand side is a bulletin board with only three pictures on it. Whether to follow orders or go rogue are choices Agent Montgomery must decide on his own.
The smell of Budweiser and Dominio's fill the air inside of the 47th Precinct. Applause and shouts of congrats are given to Officer Louis Olander as he becomes the newest member of the Drug Enforcement Taks Force. Captain Mazzola looks on with a smile, but he is crying on the inside. Mazzola knows first-hand what comes with the territory when it comes to the Drug Enforcement Task Force. It may start off nice, but the things one must see and do is often times horrific. Making his way towards the festivities, Mazzola gives Officer Olander a hug and tells him congratulations.
Sphinx and Menace are on the porch of their house that sits across the street from Haffen Park. The two cousins are shooting the breeze about the past. They reminisce about the fact that they used to share the same girls. They would also think of the situation involving their fathers vanishing. Sphinx gave Menace props for being mature for his age and for being a great strategist. Menace would give Sphinx props for holding everything together despite dealing with his personal demons. A car is moving towards their house and both of their senses go off. Before either of them can think tinted windows roll down and bullets are sprayed. Menace hits the ground and was lightly grazed. Thirty seconds felt like eternity. The car drives off never to be seen again. Menace notices that Sphinx hasn't made a move to only discover a gunshot wound to his head and his heart. Leaving the car inside of a salvage yard, Eddy and Cleopatra take off their face mask. Both smile at each other as a way of saying, "we did that shit."
One way or another we have to take accountability for our choices. Whether the choices we make are good, bad, positive, or negative a ripple effect comes with them. The only hope most of us have is that the consequences don't come back to hurt us or our loved ones. A peaceful conscience or a tormented conscience, we either look ahead or look over our shoulder. On our knees we ask God for forgiveness. In any form of darkness there is light. In any form of light there is darkness. How we handle the situations life throws at us is a matter of the heart.
